Ten years ago, I was you.

I had achieved success in my professional life. In my case, I was an accomplished lawyer. I was financially secure and had the means to do many of the things I dreamed of growing up.

On the surface, things looked pretty great. But there was just one problem. I didn’t feel so great. In fact, I felt pretty crappy a lot of the time. I was chronically tired and didn’t have the energy to enjoy doing all of the things I wanted to do in life. My brain often felt cloudy and I like it was working harder to remember things and find the right words. And I was stressed. Oh, how I was stressed.

My doctors never seemed to have an answer for me and I was often told that this is just part of getting older or the price of having a successful career. But something inside me told me this isn’t normal and I knew there had to be a better way. So I decided enough was enough and I took matters into my own hands.

Over the next few years, I consumed every health, wellness, and personal growth book and podcast I could get my hands on. 

Everyday I poured through hours (literally) of content on how our daily nutrition and lifestyle choices impact energy production and brain function. I became obsessed with learning about how we can use breathwork and other interventions to regulate our nervous systems, increase our resilience to stress, and create the exact state shift we want to experience from moment to moment. And then things started to change. Big time.

I went from waking up in the the middle of the night and feeling groggy in the morning to sleeping like a baby and feeling recharged and ready to go. My energy levels shot up and I stopped having afternoon crashes. My brain fog disappeared and I felt sharper and clearer than ever. I felt a sense of peace and calm during my days that I didn’t know was possible. When I experienced stressors, my body would handle them better and return to normal faster instead of getting stuck in a cycle of chronic stress. My relationships and work life improved as I became a far better version of myself. I finally felt the way I knew I deserved to feel. And the immense gratitude I felt for experiencing these changes created a sense of euphoria and connection that was palpable to everyone around me.

I soon found myself wanting to share everything I had learned and experienced in the hopes that it would help others. 

And I realized that millions of people in the world find themselves in the same situation I was in, without the time or energy to try and figure it out themselves while juggling a successful career and all of life’s challenges. As time went on, I began to feel a deep calling to guide others through the same transformation I went through. 

So I decided to leave law behind and pursue my certification as a Functional Medicine Health Coach. I intentionally chose a program based in functional medicine because it is a heavily science-backed approach that focuses on how we can heal the root causes of health issues, rather than simply treating or masking our symptoms. It was an amazing adventure and my health continued to improve throughout that journey. It is now my greatest calling to help others shortcut the long process I went through to heal myself.
